Die unfinished.
D.C. Anthony is an oil painter based in Chester County, Pennsylvania, whose work explores the tension found in "in-between" spaces. Rooted in a balance of classical technique and modern surrealism, the paintings pursue the "logic of a dream" — scenes that feel familiar yet slightly off-balance.
Each piece is built around a sharp, single-point light source that isolates its subject between absolute focus and the surrounding dark, a deliberate process used to anchor an overactive mind and sharpen attention.
The practice is guided by a personal motto, "die unfinished" — a daily reminder to stay curious, and to treat the canvas, like the world around it, as never truly done.
A member of the Chester County Art Association, with work shown in several of their exhibitions, and a 2026 quarterfinalist in The Art of Elysium's The People's Artist competition, presented by Johnny Depp.
